Climate change, urbanization and global change make natural hazard risk management an increasingly relevant issue. Progressive digitalization implies new challenges and opportunities in this domain for the insurance industry. Besides optimizing existing processes, highly innovative practices for risk assessment can be developed. Over the years Genillard & Co has gathered comprehensive knowledge and built up an excellent network, which we access in various consulting disciplines:
Our workshops are conducted with a focus on “best practice” work in the field, and encourage exchanges of ideas between public and private actors. An example of this is our annual NatCat workshop, to which we invite leading European experts and scientists.
In collaboration with our partners from the insurance industry and leading European scientific institutions, we identify gaps in existing commercial natural hazard models. Wherever demand is identified, we develop innovative and transparent risk assessment models. Thereby we act as project managers, architects and networkers.
With a detailed process analysis, we identify optimization possibilities in existing IT infrastructures. We also point out, which technical additions can be implemented. We believe that risk management of natural hazards should be a digital, seamless process for the entire value chain in the insurance industry.
